In this world if everyone is to be asked, no one would wish to be under any authority. It is always ones desire to be a leader and as some believe to exercise the powers that come with leadership. In our societies traditions have been set and standards kept for any kind of leadership, whether in religious or government offices.
Well, for any given society to function normally, there has to be rules and regulation on how things are to be done. However, to some extent these have been greatly abused. When the rules were set they were not set for only those who are not leaders but they were set for everyone. Or may be I might ask, who is supposed to take the blame when a subordinate staff has made a mistake or has made decisions that are not up to standards when his immediate boss is not on duty? In most cases, the subordinate ends up losing his position only for the boss to defend his position. Power is what an trying to get at.
When on power most leaders assume they are always right and their subordinate cannot make any valid decision. Our leaders need to be flexible and be able to change as our environment and societies changes. The times of one man show are long gone. We now need to work harmoniously with our juniors, give the correct and accurate information as possible. Nowadays we live in a suspicious world. Everyone is suspicious of the other and times have changed when we used to imagine we are on power and that is it. The current generation is always out to prove wrong this culture.
We should always work harmoniously with our juniors. It is time to own up to our own failures are find a way of getting our self out of the mess. Arrogance and pride will never yield good leadership and management skills in this current world.
